Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have officially tied the knot in a romantic ceremony in California, marking a new chapter for the couple after years of friendship and two years of dating.
A fairytale ceremony in Santa Barbara
The 33-year-old singer and actress exchanged vows with 37-year-old music producer Benny Blanco on Saturday, 27 September, in Santa Barbara. The intimate ceremony was attended by around 170 of their closest family and friends. Among the high-profile guests were Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Paris Hilton, and Selena’s Only Murders in the Building co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short.
The bride wore a custom Ralph Lauren halter-neck gown with floral detailing and an open back, while Blanco opted for a classic black Ralph Lauren tuxedo. Gomez later shared a series of photos and clips on Instagram, including a tender moment where she straightened Blanco’s bow tie before kissing him. She captioned the post with the date of the wedding, framed by two white heart emojis, while Blanco commented simply: “My wife in real life.”
Hollywood glamour and personal touches
Behind the scenes, hairstylist Renato Campora crafted Gomez’s look for the big day, using Joico treatments to create a glossy Marcel Wave bob inspired by classic Hollywood glamour. Speaking to People magazine, Campora described the styling process as a tribute to “joy, unity and love,” ensuring every detail reflected the occasion.
The couple’s celebration followed a month of festivities, with Gomez enjoying a bachelorette trip to Cabo San Lucas and Blanco marking the milestone with his own celebration in Las Vegas. From friendship to forever
Although the pair had known each other for years, they only began dating in 2022. Blanco proposed last December, and Gomez has often spoken about how he brings a sense of grounding to her life.
“I appreciate his heart, his kindness, his quirks,” she told Allure. “He’s one of the most grounded people in my life, and he makes me feel very normal.” Reflecting on their timing, she added, “I don’t think I would have been remotely mature enough before. I’ve learned so many lessons that have led me to be the best partner I could be for Benny. He’ll say, ‘Why did we waste so much time?’ and I always say, ‘You wouldn’t have liked me back then.’”
With their vows exchanged and their journey as husband and wife underway, Gomez and Blanco’s California wedding blended Hollywood glamour with heartfelt intimacy, sealing their love story in front of family, friends and the world.
