Anlia and Eben Etzebeth have welcomed their second child. The couple shared the news on Friday, 24 October, posting a tender photograph on Instagram of Anlia holding the newborn while Eben kisses their first-born daughter. “One week of us,” Anlia captioned the image.
A growing Springbok family
The Etzebeths announced the birth of their first child in January 2024. In July this year, Anlia revealed they were expecting again, sharing a sunset bump photo with the note: “What a privilege, what a blessing.” Their latest arrival makes them a family of four.
Messages of support poured in from friends and fellow rugby families. Marise Pollard commented “Poppies,” while Rachel Kolisi added heart emojis, with others sending warm wishes for the first week as a family of four.

Baby season among the Boks
The Etzebeths’ news follows close on the heels of Springboks fly-half Handré Pollard and his wife, Marise, announcing the birth of their daughter, Isabella Tanya, this week. The pair also have a one-year-old son, Hunter. Elsewhere in the Springbok circle, Faf de Klerk and his wife, Miné, have confirmed they are expecting their second child later this year.
A quiet, joy-filled update
Neither Eben nor Anlia has shared further details about their newborn, choosing a low-key reveal that mirrors their first announcement. For now, the photograph says enough: a content family settling into life with a new addition, and another joyful chapter for one of South Africa’s best-known rugby couples.
