The Real Housewives of Cape Town star Beverly Steyn has shared an honest account of navigating personal challenges in the public eye, speaking openly about friendship, divorce and resilience on the finale episode of Showmax talk show Untied.
Friendship in the spotlight
Steyn’s name recently made headlines following her friendship with The Real Housewives of Durban star Nonku Williams. The pair connected while filming The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip – SA, but their bond later became a talking point on The Real Housewives of Durban. Some cast members even suggested Steyn played a role in the breakdown of Williams’ friendship with Jojo Robinson.

Describing her relationship with Williams as layered and complex, Steyn said, “Like many friendships, we’ve had moments of closeness and moments of distance, but I try to approach it with honesty, respect and boundaries.” She admitted it was “disappointing” to see their private dynamic discussed so openly during the reunion, adding that it made her more conscious of what she chooses to share.
Opening up about divorce
During her Untied interview with host Relebogile Mabotja, Steyn also spoke candidly about her divorce and the challenge of enduring deeply personal experiences while under public scrutiny.
“Having your most vulnerable moments dissected by people who weren’t there and don’t know the full story forces you to develop a thick skin while still trying to protect your soft heart,” she reflected.
Choosing to share her story
For Steyn, sharing her journey was about offering hope to others who may be facing similar struggles. “I believe that our stories have power, especially the ones we’ve survived,” she said. “I wanted to share mine to show that even in the most difficult seasons, there’s hope, there’s resilience, and there’s life beyond the pain. If my openness can help just one woman feel less alone, it’s worth it.”
