Warm neutrals will always have their place in a warm-weather wardrobe, but spring/summer collections have made a strong case for colour, expressive prints and comfortable silhouettes. Ladies, summer dressing is about to become more playful!
Fashion experts say, these are the trends to look forward to before you refresh your wardrobe.
Polished, pretty and easy
Feminine dressing is having a moment but you don’t have to overdo it. Think softly tailored skirts, flowing maxi and midi dresses and relaxed blouses. It’s about elegant pieces that flow and move with the body.
Scarf-inspired details and drop-waist silhouettes are also among the details that are appearing across the collections, while breezy fabrics keep these looks a bit more practical in the warmer weather.
Playful prints
A plain linen dress is cute but sometimes we want a bit more dramatic. Retro-inspired prints are expected to be more prominent, from expressive florals to checks and oversized polka dots, tropical motifs and graphic patterns.
Printed dresses are particularly useful this summer because you can style them with simple accessories. Add understated jewellery, a structured handbag, or a pair of simple sandals and you’re ready to go.
Bold colours
There isn’t necessarily a dominant colour this season. Instead, summer offers a broad palette from muted to beautifully saturated.
Cloud Dancer, a creamy off-white, is an important neutral for 2026, and softer alternatives include butter yellow, mint and powder blue. On the bolder end, expect to see tomato red, lime green, emerald, turquoise and violet to add lots of energy. You’ll also see unexpected colour pairings and colour blocking.
Relaxed trousers and statement skirts
Comfort still influences the way we dress so you’ll see wide and balloon-shaped trousers, Bermuda shorts and easy cargo styles.
Skirts are also getting plenty of attention. Knee-length and flowing silhouettes are an elegant alternative to the mini, and a beautiful skirt can be dressed up with a fitted top or a simple T-shirt.
Make the trend your own
You don’t have to completely overhaul your entire wardrobe. Rather choose one element that resonates – it can be a colourful blouse, printed skirt, an accessory or a flowing shirt. Personality is what will define this season. Whether your version of summer style is colourful and eclectic or pared-back and chic, make the trend – any trend, for that matter – distinctly your own.
