Fifty-year-old Afrikaans actress, Franci Swanepoel, has passed away.
The actress reportedly passed away in her sleep, and was found on dead on Sunday morning. No cause of death has been confirmed.
Marius van de Wall, Swanepoel’s business partner from Makiti Productions, shared with Netwerk24:
“The news is still very limited. We understand that she died in her sleep, but the details are still unclear.”
Franci’s talent agency, Talent-ETC, also confirmed the news of her passing on Instagram:

Swanepoel was best known for her roles as Toeks Tobert in kykNET’s Binnelanders soapie.
The actress starred in various other Afrikaans shows like Getroud met Rugby and Sterlopers, as well as in films like Die Vierde Kabinet, and Lien se Lankstaanskoene.
According to a statement made to News24 by kykNET boss Waldimar Pelser, Swanepoel was in the middle of filming an upcoming drama series on kykNET:
“Franci was busy filming a drama series for kykNET. She was a valued colleague and a dear friend to many and we are incredibly shocked and saddened over the news of her death.”
Swanepoel’s co-star Adriaan Marais from Getroud met Rugby shared a message of condolence on Facebook:
