Anne Hathaway can pull off any look and 2022 proved it

When it comes to actresses who always understand the assignment, Anne Hathaway takes the cake. Every last crumb.

However, something that’s often overlooked when it comes to the decades-dominating actress, is her ability to seamlessly integrate into any style. Whether it’s her own coastal granny chic or a stylist’s devilishly dreamy imaginings, Anne is as much a chameleon in fashion as she is on the silver screen, and 2022 proved it.

Dopamine dressing’s don

One of the top trends of 2022– dopamine dressing – is all about wearing colours and and textures that activate a release of dopamine. They’re bright, bold and fearless – a lot like happiness itself. And of all the celebrities to tackle the trend, Anne’s pulled off one of the most unique renditions of dopamine encapsulated, wearing Christopher John Rogers’ dots gradient. The look has only been challenged by one other – a Christopher John Rogers’ chair.

Barbiecore’s queen

Earlier this year, Hathway also became Barbiecore’s icon after she wore a sequin-enthusiast’s dream mini dress to the Valentino Haute Couture show in Milan. The Valentino number was pulled together perfectly with the platform shoes that inspired a movement to heels on the highest rise, and soon the Barbiecore aesthetic painted the world pink with icons like Anne paving the way.

The coastal grandmother aesthetic

The coastal granny aesthetic does not belong to one person, it’s an overarching lifestyle. It’s the mimosa-loving, fedora or bucket hat-rocking, jersey-over-the-shoulders-adorning person who always looks like they have it all together in the most calming way.

Her recent cover shoot with Vogue Hong Kong is the latest testament to Anne’s versatility.

Taking cues from the 60s and 70s, the shoot encapsulates an Anne that looks as classy as she does modern in an accessible way.

Anne looks as though she wears advanced deep purple Giavito Rossi boots on every casual stroll.

Head to toe in eclectic leopard print pieces? Anne’s ease in the kit invite you to believe that this is the very same outfit she wears to the supermarket.

And the hair? Hair stylist Orlando Pita gave us 1960s meets the modern empress.

Marrying down-to-earth allures with the rhythms of high fashion isn’t something everyone can pull off. However, in 2022 Anne hasn’t just risen to be the embodiment of the two styles, but the epitome.
