Small, regular habits beat big, exhausting scrubs. Do these five things straight after each shower and you’ll slash limescale, soap scum and mould—especially helpful in hard‑water, high‑humidity homes.

Squeegee tiles and glass
Before you step out, run a simple squeegee over the shower glass, tiles and any built‑in seats. Removing the film of water dramatically cuts humidity load, prevents mineral spotting and slows limescale and pink mould. It takes under a minute and saves hours later.

Wipe the floors and windowsill dry
Even with a bath mat, drips happen. Use your damp towel to wipe up splashes on the floor and windowsill, then pop the towel straight into the wash or hang it to dry. A quick weekly pass with a mild, non‑abrasive cleaner keeps germs and residue in check.
Clear the drain of hair
Lift the trap or cover and remove hair and lint so water drains freely. If you struggle to bend, a simple drain snake or hook makes it a no‑chemical job. Clear drains keep soap from settling and stop smells and blockages from forming.
Hang towels wide and high to dry
Spread towels fully—on a rail, bannister or over‑door hooks—so air circulates. Towels that dry fast don’t develop that stubborn, musty odour and won’t add to bathroom humidity.

Ventilate immediately
Open the window for a good 10–15 minutes and run the extractor fan during and after showering. This “shock ventilation” dumps the steam quickly, reduces condensation on cold surfaces and starves mould of the damp it loves.
Weekly extras that make the dailies fly
A quick descale of the shower head, a spritz‑and‑wipe of taps and a change of the drain catcher once a week keep the whole room fresher—so your five small post‑shower moves stay effortless.
