At 40, Beyoncé still rules the dance floor and our closets thanks to IVYTOPIA

The release of Beyonce’s BREAK MY SOUL, a snippet of her latest album Renaissance had Queen B’s hive of fans stepping into an era – empowerment in their own freedom. The hit single dominated charts expeditiously and was quickly dubbed an anthem for a post-pandemic era.

Beyoncé has always championed relevancy, void of gimmicky stunts. Her secret? Genuine appeal, and messages that have mirrored various aspects of her life – from youth to motherhood.

Powerfully, Bey continues to remind women all over the world that age hardly defines relevance. When one considers that she’s almost 41 this year, it’s brilliant to think that her age is almost never a topic of discussion, and if it is, it’s from an inspirational perspective.

The latest collaborative collection is titled IVYTOPIA, created around the concept of discovering one’s own nirvana, regardless of the era of their lives they’re in. It represents a refreshing take on fashion that daydreams, breaks free after isolation, and excludes restrictions – of colour, creativity, body stereotypes, gender or age.

The colours chosen are nothing short of bespoke, including quartz (off white), pyrite (silver), lapis lazuli (shock cyan), hawk’s eye (khaki) and jasper (solar yellow) along with crystal and floral-inspired print.

The collection blends natural and organic elements with futuristic details and shapes, using a design language that gives the feeling of another world – one which we’re already stepping into thanks to the post-pandemic era that navigates both a desire to connect with nature and technology’s ever increasing place in our lives.
