Springboks captain Siya Kolisi and influencer Rachel John appear to have taken their rumoured romance stateside.
The pair are currently in New York following a recent trip to Los Angeles for the NBA All-Star weekend, and social media detectives are convinced the “baecation” is still going strong.
“He said he knew a spot”
Rachel, 25, took to TikTok to share a video from the top of the iconic Empire State Building.

Captioning the clip, she wrote: “He said he knew a spot.”
While she did not tag Siya directly, the timing raised eyebrows. Shortly after, Siya shared a photo of the Empire State Building on his Instagram Story — seemingly confirming that both were at the same landmark.
Although neither has publicly confirmed their relationship, the coordinated New York posts have only intensified speculation.
From Los Angeles to the Big Apple
The New York stop comes after the pair were seen in Los Angeles attending the NBA All-Star weekend.
Their international travels follow an earlier trip to Victoria Falls at the start of the year. The destination sparked headlines at the time, as it was the same location where Siya honeymooned with his estranged wife, Rachel Kolisi, in 2016.
While the two did not post photos together during the Victoria Falls trip, a fan spotted them boarding a cruise on the Zambezi River, effectively confirming they were travelling together.
Rachel later returned to what she calls her “home” in Amsterdam before reuniting with Siya abroad.
How the rumours began
Romance rumours first surfaced in late 2025 when fans identified Rachel as the woman seated next to Siya at the ATP Tour Finals in Turin.
Since then, the two have been seen together at several events, including Rachel’s birthday celebrations in Jeffrey’s Bay.
Though the pair have remained tight-lipped, their repeated appearances in the same locations — and subtle social media clues — have kept followers watching closely.
Life after divorce
Siya and Rachel Kolisi announced their split in October 2024 after eight years of marriage. The former couple share two children, Nicholas (11) and Keziah (9).
Rachel Kolisi has since focused on her upcoming documentary and the launch of her book Falling Forward, while Siya continues to lead the Springboks both on and off the field.
As for whether the New York trip confirms anything official, neither Siya nor Rachel John has addressed the speculation directly.
But if social media breadcrumbs are anything to go by, the “spot” he knew seems to be making headlines.
