Shakira has officially teased the 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem, and it sounds like she has not missed a beat. The Colombian superstar unveiled a 67-second clip of Dai Dai — the official tournament song featuring Nigerian star Burna Boy — filmed on the pitch at Brazil’s iconic Maracanã Stadium. The track is due for full release on 14 May.
In the teaser, Shakira performs sections of the energetic anthem in English, holding the official 2026 World Cup match ball, the Trionda, while dancers wearing the colours of competing nations move around her. The phrase Dai Dai comes from Italian and translates roughly as “Come on, come on!” — a rallying cry that fits the tournament’s spirit exactly.

A World Cup legacy like no other
Shakira’s history with the FIFA World Cup stretches back two decades. She performed at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 finals and created two of the tournament’s most enduring anthems — Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) from the 2010 South Africa tournament remains one of the most listened-to World Cup songs of all time.
Dai Dai marks her official return to World Cup music more than a decade later, and the addition of Burna Boy — one of the most globally impactful African artists of his generation — makes the pairing one of the more exciting of this World Cup cycle.
South Africa will also have a significant musical presence at the tournament. Tyla is set to perform at the opening ceremony in Mexico City on 11 June, ahead of the opening match between Mexico and Bafana Bafana at the Estadio Azteca.
