Olympic gold medalist Tatjana Schoenmaker and athlete representative Joel Smith tied the knot with a stunning Robertson wedding over the weekend.

The couple, who got engaged in April 2022, said their “I do’s” over the weekend at the lush setting of Pat Busch Mountain Reserve in Robertson. On Monday, Tatjana and Joel took to Instagram to celebrate their special day with a carousel of gorgeous wedding photographs by Olivia Booyse from Veld Films.

Rachel Kolisi, who happens to be the groom’s older sister, also took to Instagram after the wedding, writing:
“My little brother got married to the most spectacular woman and I literally couldn’t be more grateful for this love ❤️🥹”
The happily marrieds, who first went public with their relationship in February this year, confirmed their engagement two months later in April, when Joel popped the question while on a couple’s hike in Constantia.

In September, in the months leading up the the wedding, Schoenmaker celebrated her kitchen tea with friends, family and Joel in tow – traditionally, the groom does not attend the kitchen tea, but you can’t keep these two love birds apart.
