Miley Cyrus is engaged to her longtime partner, American drummer and multi-instrumentalist Maxx Morando, after debuting a striking diamond ring on the red carpet in Los Angeles.
The singer sparked engagement speculation when she appeared at the Avatar: Fire and Ash premiere on 1 December wearing a chunky, custom cushion-cut diamond set on a thick gold band. Posing alongside Morando, the couple looked visibly affectionate as cameras quickly zoomed in on the ring, effectively confirming the rumours.

Morando, 27, is best known as a former drummer for punk rock band The Regrettes and as a member of Los Angeles-based band Liily. Despite his industry credentials, he is described by insiders as low-key and uninterested in the celebrity spotlight, and the couple have largely kept their relationship private.
The pair were first romantically linked in late 2021 after being spotted together at Cyrus’s New Year’s Eve television special in Miami. Cyrus later revealed in an interview that their initial meeting was essentially a blind date, saying her attitude at the time was, “The worst that can happen is I leave” – a risk that clearly paid off.
Their partnership has also extended into the studio. Morando co-wrote and produced several tracks on Cyrus’s 2023 album Endless Summer Vacation, including “Handstand” and “Violet Chemistry”, further cementing their creative and personal connection.
This will be Cyrus’s second marriage. She previously wed actor Liam Hemsworth in December 2018 after a long on-off relationship; the couple separated months later and finalised their divorce in 2019. Sources close to the singer say she had not expected to marry again, but that Morando “completely changed that”, suggesting a more settled chapter ahead for the pop star.
