Lady Gaga has cancelled her final show in Montreal, Canada, after a respiratory infection left her unable to perform on doctor’s orders. The cancellation came just hours before she was due on stage at the Bell Centre on Monday night, with the Grammy winner sharing the news directly with fans via Instagram Story.
“I’ve been fighting a respiratory infection for the past few days and doing everything I can to rest and recover, but it’s gotten worse,” she wrote. “My doctor has strongly advised me not to perform today and to be honest I don’t think I could give you the quality of a performance today that you deserve.”
Heartbroken, but honest
Gaga had performed back-to-back concerts at the same venue on 2 and 3 April before the third and final Montreal date was called off. Her message to fans was characteristically candid — she acknowledged the disappointment directly and did not attempt to soften the blow with vague explanations.
“I know how deeply disappointing this is, and I truly could not feel worse about letting you down,” she wrote, adding that the two previous Montreal shows had been “magical and deeply meaningful”. She described herself as “absolutely heartbroken” for those who had made plans to attend.

The tour continues
The Mayhem Ball launched in July 2025, with a North American extension announced in September that pushed the tour’s end date to April 2026. The Montreal cancellation is not the first health-related disruption Gaga has faced during the run — in September, she postponed a Miami concert due to vocal strain, with that show later rescheduled for March.
The remaining dates — in Saint Paul, Minnesota and New York City — are expected to go ahead as planned, bringing the tour to a close in the coming days.
Gaga is not alone in navigating health challenges on the road this year. Billy Joel has cancelled all shows through to July 2026 following a diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus, a brain disorder affecting his hearing, vision and balance. Goo Goo Dolls frontman John Rzeznik has also been sidelined by pneumonia, forcing the band to pull out of remaining Canadian dates.
