Meet the new Hogwarts trio
Following an extensive global casting search, three newcomers have been confirmed for the lead roles. Dominic McLaughlin has been cast as Harry Potter, with Arabella Stanton set to portray Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The trio follows in the footsteps of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, who brought the characters to life in the blockbuster film series.

Creative team praises young talent
Francesca Gardiner, who serves as the series showrunner, praised the casting decision, stating that the selected actors “bring a unique energy and emotional depth to the characters”. Executive producer Mark Mylod echoed the sentiment, adding, “The level of talent shown during auditions was extraordinary. Thousands of children were considered, and the final selection reflects both authenticity and promise.”
Star-studded supporting cast confirmed
In addition to the new leads, the series will feature a high-profile supporting cast. John Lithgow will take on the iconic role of Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, while Janet McTeer is confirmed as the stern but kind-hearted Professor McGonagall. Paapa Essiedu, acclaimed for his role in I May Destroy You, will portray the complex and conflicted Professor Snape.
Nick Frost, best known for his roles in Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, will step into the shoes of the half-giant groundskeeper, Hagrid, offering a mix of humour and heart.
The cast also includes Luke Thallon as the timid Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as the cantankerous caretaker, Argus Filch.
