Taylor Swift is married. Under the cover of tents, tarps and enough security to rival a state visit, the pop star and NFL player Travis Kelce tied the knot at Madison Square Garden in New York on 4 July — Independence Day, a date Swift has long held meaningful. Around 1,000 guests attended what sources described as emotionally grounded and carefully private, despite the scale.
The wedding looks were designed by Christian Dior Haute Couture, created by Jonathan Anderson in collaboration with the couple. Swift paired her gown with Christian Louboutin shoes and Cartier jewellery. There were no bridesmaids or groomsmen — Swift’s brother Austin served as Man of Honour, and Jason Kelce stood as Best Man.

Adam Sandler officiated — and gave advice
The ceremony was officiated by actor and comedian Adam Sandler, which surprised many but, on reflection, seemed entirely fitting. Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who attended as a guest, said Sandler did a phenomenal job and delivered advice that Reid himself found memorable.
The advice was simple: keep kissing. Make sure you do it every day, every minute that you have an opportunity to. It is hard to argue with that.
The guests, the details, the absences
The guest list read like a cross-section of every major entertainment and sporting world Swift and Kelce inhabit. Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Dakota Johnson, Zoe Kravitz and Hugh Grant were among those sighted. Patrick and Brittany Mahomes represented the NFL contingent alongside Travis’s family.
Guests received embroidered handkerchiefs referencing Blank Space, complete with personalised wedding details and lyric-inspired stitching — a detail that confirmed what most already knew: even the smallest items at this wedding carried intention.
Notably absent was Blake Lively, whose friendship with Swift cooled following the legal dispute involving Lively, Justin Baldoni and the film It Ends With Us. Most guests kept their social media posts minimal, in keeping with the couple’s clear preference for privacy over performance.
