John Aniston, actor best known for his role in Days of Our Lives, has died. The actor, father to one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Jennifer Aniston, passed away at 89-years-old.

John was born in Crete, Greece, as Yannis Anastassakis and emigrated with his family to the US when he was a child.
Later in life, he landed his biggest role as Victor Kiriakis in Days of Our Lives, but the actor also starred in shows like Gilmore Girls, The West Wing, Mad Men and Star Trek: Voyager.
In June this year, John was honoured with the Daytime Emmys Lifetime Achievement Award for his legendary role in Days of Our Lives. Before he accepted his award, his daughter, Jennifer, shared a moving tribute to her father’s career in acting.

Yesterday Jennifer Aniston took to Instagram announcing the news of her father’s passing, without sharing details about cause of death.

In a post addressed to her late father, Jennifer says:
“Sweet papa… John Anthony Aniston. You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace – and without pain. And on 11/11 no less! You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now. I’ll love you till the end of time.”
“Don’t forget to visit.”
