Local lady, but international star, Kim Engelbrecht has an impressive career spanning across almost three decades. At 41 – yes, she is really 41! – Kim has mastered the art of feeling and looking beautiful. Of course, there’s a few secrets that got her there.

1. ‘Sun protection is super important. Make it an integral part of your beauty routine.’
When it comes to the battle of anti-ageing, sun protection is your number one weapon! A moisturising sunscreen is the most vital product to own if you want to prevent wrinkles. What really hastens ageing in the skin is daily exposure to ultraviolet light. Wearing sunscreen reduces the effects of UV light on the skin, and that means fewer wrinkles over time.

2. ‘Buy yourself silk pillow cases – they’re so gentle on your hair and skin.’
The natural properties of silk, as well as it’s smooth, friction-less surface, can apparently give your hair and face some huge boosts. As a softer natural fibre to sleep on, silk pillowcases reduce pressure on your face, decreasing wrinkles. 3. ‘Tea tree oil is a travel essential and great for pimples.’

4. ‘Invest in a good hairbrush.’

5. ‘Face creams are my thing!’
