It’s been a little over two weeks since Miss South Africa Ndavi Nokeri was crowned, and she’s already making a massive impact.

Ndavi recently flew down to the Western Cape, where one of her first stops was a ribbon-cutting ceremony in honour of a new creché in the Cape. She also handed over R1 million on behalf of Sun International’s GrandWest to early childhood development and special needs centres.
The Miss SA organisation had previously shared that Ndavi’s goals were to “be in the rooms where decisions are made about educational and skills development in South African schools” adding that she hoped to share “meaningful insights that will advance our nation.”
Her Cape Town visit definitely earmarks steps toward these goals.
The centres that will benefit from the donation are:
- Breadline Africa (and its beneficiaries)
- The Little Angels Educare
- WaterSprites Nursery School
- The Autism Connect Learning Centre
- and the Friends Daycare Centre
According to Mervyn Naidoo of GrandWest, the private sector has to play its role to nurture and develop little ones, especially those who rely on NPOs that are often underresourced.
The occasion marked her second highly publicised appearance since her crowning, with the first being a joyful homecoming to Limpopo.
