Dua Lipa is a married woman. The 30-year-old British singer wed actor Callum Turner, 36, in a legal ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London on Saturday morning, the couple emerging to a cheering crowd outside the historic building.
Lipa wore a white skirt suit and hat for the occasion, a look that was as considered and stylish as everything she does. The ceremony is understood to be ahead of a larger three-day celebration in Italy later this week, making Saturday the official legal chapter of what is reportedly a more expansive wedding event.
The love story behind the ring
Turner, best known for his roles in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Masters of the Air and the 2025 film Eternity, met Lipa before a friend’s birthday party in Los Angeles. The connection, by his own account, began over a book.
We sat next to each other and realised we were reading the same book — it was incredible, he said of the moment, referring to Hernan Diaz’s Trust. It is the kind of detail that sounds almost too romantic to be true, but appears to have been exactly that.
The couple got engaged earlier this year, with Lipa spotted wearing a Jessica McCormack engagement ring at the Met Gala in May. She had previously visited South Africa twice — once to Cape Town and once on safari in the Kruger and Sabi Sands — and had spoken openly about wanting to keep the wedding intimate and out of the spotlight.
