Miley Cyrus has received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the 2845th to be bestowed by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and placed in the Recording category. The ceremony took place on Friday, with the plaque installed on the pavement beside the Madame Tussauds building — a fitting company for one of entertainment’s most recognisable faces.
Anya Taylor-Joy and fashion designer Donatella Versace were among the guest speakers, and Cyrus, 33, was effusive in her acknowledgement of the moment. “Surrounded by my fans, who I owe it all to,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a series of photographs from the day. She also noted that Taylor-Joy arrived in archival Bob Mackie, which she described as looking like heaven.
A career built on reinvention
Cyrus’s journey to the Walk of Fame began where most of her generation first encountered her — as Hannah Montana, the Disney Channel character who balanced a double life as an ordinary teenager by day and pop star by night. The show earned her a global following of devoted young fans and established her as one of the most recognised faces in youth entertainment.
What followed was a career defined by evolution. She transitioned from child star to adult artist with a confidence that most performers in similar positions rarely achieve, building a body of work spanning pop, rock, and country and earning Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for Flowers.
Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez captured the significance of the moment concisely: “Generations of young girls have grown up watching her evolve, finding inspiration in her journey and fearless creativity.” The star is a recognition not just of commercial success but of lasting cultural impact — the kind that endures across eras and reinventions.
