Miss South Africa 2024 Mia le Roux has given fans a closer look at her “dream” engagement ring — a bespoke piece she co-designed with fiancé Luke Tenoever.
The former beauty queen took to Instagram to share a Reel unveiling the custom creation, revealing that the idea to design a second ring together came from Luke himself.
“Luke told me that he would really love for us to go commission and design a bespoke ring together,” she explained.
The final design features a dazzling diamond set on a slim gold band — classic, elegant and timeless. While Mia proudly showcased the new ring, she made it clear that the original ring Luke proposed with remains deeply meaningful to her.
She described the second ring as something special they created together, adding another sentimental layer to their engagement story.

A love story kept private
Mia announced her engagement in July 2025, revealing that she and Luke had actually been engaged for some time before sharing the news publicly. The couple chose to keep the milestone private at first, wanting to enjoy the moment away from the spotlight.
In her announcement post at the time, Mia shared a heartfelt tribute to her fiancé.
“The immense love, patience and sacrifice you have shown me this year has been nothing short of incredible,” she wrote.
She also reflected on the small, everyday moments that define their relationship, joking about his tendency to inspect his cricket kit for an hour when she asks for a cup of coffee.
“We have been engaged for a while now and mutually agreed that we just want to enjoy our little bubble. This one moment that just belonged to us for a little while. And now we are ready to share our joy with the world. We said yes to forever,” she added.
More than a title
Mia made history in 2024 when she became the first differently abled woman to be crowned Miss South Africa. Diagnosed with profound hearing loss at the age of one, she has used her platform to advocate for inclusion and representation.
Born in Sasolburg in the Free State and raised in Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape, Mia holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from Unisa and works as a marketing manager at a start-up company.
As she steps into this next chapter, Mia’s sparkling new ring is more than just a piece of jewellery — it is a symbol of partnership, intention and a future built together.
