Taylor Swift is engaged to NFL star Travis Kelce after two years. The pair shared the happy news on Instagram with a series of photographs capturing the special moment.
The couple announced their engagement with a playful caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married”. The carousel included five images of the pair surrounded by flowers, with Kelce down on one knee and Swift proudly showing off her sparkling ring.

A proposal fans were expecting
The news has delighted fans but came as little surprise to those close to the couple. For more than a year, insiders had speculated that an engagement was on the horizon, with friends describing Swift and Kelce as a perfect match.
Their relationship began quietly in the summer of 2023, shortly after Kelce mentioned on his podcast New Heights that he had attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his number on it during her Eras Tour show in Kansas City. The gesture didn’t work at the time, but it prompted Swift to reach out to him afterwards.
By September that year, Swift went public with their romance when she was spotted at a Kansas City Chiefs game, cheering Kelce on from the stands. From then on, the couple were frequently seen together, balancing their busy schedules of football and international touring.
From friendship bracelets to forever
Speaking to Time in 2023, Swift reflected on how naturally their romance had unfolded. “We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew about, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other,” she explained. “By the time I went to that first game, we were already a couple.”
Kelce has also been open about his admiration for Swift. In an interview with WSJ Magazine, he recalled how she reached out after hearing about his bracelet story, and he praised her intelligence and creativity. “Being around her, seeing how smart Taylor is, has been mind-blowing. I’m learning every day,” he said.

Since confirming their relationship, Swift and Kelce have become one of the world’s most-watched celebrity couples.
