American actress Amber Heard has welcomed twins, marking a joyful milestone in her journey as a mother.
The 39-year-old shared the news in a heartfelt Instagram post on Mother’s Day, announcing the arrival of her daughter Agnes and son Ocean.
Heard, best known for her roles in films like Aquaman and The Rum Diary, expressed overwhelming joy after welcoming her twin babies.
Alongside a touching image of three pairs of feet—presumably hers, Agnes’s, and Ocean’s—she wrote:
“Mother’s Day 2025 will be one I’ll never forget. This year I am elated beyond words to celebrate the completion of the family I’ve strived to build for years.”

The twins join Heard’s first daughter, Oonagh, born in 2021.
Reflecting on her experience as a mother, Heard said that Oonagh’s arrival “changed [her] world forever,” and that the twins have amplified her happiness. “I thought I couldn’t possibly burst with more joy. Well, now I am bursting times three!!!” she shared.
Amber Heard’s battle with infertility
Heard’s path to motherhood has not been without obstacles. In her post, she candidly addressed her fertility challenges, describing her path towards becoming a mother:
“Becoming a mother by myself and on my own terms despite my own fertility challenges has been the most humbling experience of my life. I am eternally grateful that I was able to choose this responsibly and thoughtfully,” she wrote.
A spokesperson for Heard told People magazine that the actress is “delighted to welcome the twins and complete her family,” adding that “Mama and babies are enjoying every minute, and Oonagh is happily running the show.”
A silver lining
Heard’s personal milestones have often unfolded under public scrutiny. She was married to actor Johnny Depp from 2015 to 2016, and their highly publicised divorce led to mutual allegations of domestic abuse.
The former couple engaged in two defamation trials: one in the UK in 2020, where Depp lost a libel case against a newspaper, and another in the US in 2022, where Heard was found liable for defaming Depp.
Heard later paid Depp $1 million (approximately R18.3 million) in a settlement in 2023, closing their legal disputes.
Despite these challenges, Heard’s focus remains on her family.
Her Mother’s Day post concluded with a message of solidarity:
“To all the moms, wherever you are today and however you got here, my dream family and I are celebrating with you.”
