What to pack for a tropical holiday

Top packing tips from Long Beach’s stylish spa manager Bianca Luxe.

1. The first thing that should go into your suitcase is obviously a swimming costume. I feel more comfortable in a flattering one-piece, but when you’re relaxing on the beach you’ll find you’re less body-conscious than normal. If you’re a bit shy pack a flowing sarong as an easy cover up.

2.You need a hydrating moisturizer, as well as high-factor sunscreen. Being out in the sun all day can really dry out your skin, and while sunscreen does protect you from damaging UV rays, it’s not necessarily very moisturising. Pack a rich day cream as well.

3.Lipstick is an easy way to glam up any outfit. Swipe on a layer of your favourite lippie and you’ll get an instant lift. Bright oranges, reds and pinks are great for a tropical holiday.

4.On such a beautiful island you’ll want to do some exploring. Pack a pair of comfortable walking shoes so that you can stroll along the beaches and tour the markets without damaging your feet (but also bring a dressy pair for dinner!)
