Darling
Darling is a quaint town that forms part of the Cape Floral Region, a biodiversity hotspot comprising a profusion of flowering plant species. The annual Darling Wildflower Show is a vibrant showcase of wildflowers in their resplendent diversity.
Adjacent to Darling and en route to Yzerfontein lies the Tienie Versfeld Wildflower Reserve. This 20-hectare haven of exquisite beauty once belonged to the Slangkop farm, a generous gift to the South African National Biodiversity Institute from its former proprietor, Mr Marthinus Versfeld.
The floral wonders include Kelkiewyn (Geissorhiza radians), Kelkiewyn-bobbejaantjie (Babiana rubrocyanea), Kallosie (Ixia maculata), Sambreeltjies (Monsonia speciosa), red Snotrosie (Drosera cistiflora) and yellow Darling satin flower (Geissorhiza darlingensis), to mention but a few.
Biedouw Valley
Biedouw Valley is surrounded by the Biedouw Mountains to the north and the Tra-Tra Mountains to the south, only 32 kilometres from Clanwilliam within the Cederberg region.

Rocherpan is a coastal nature reserve rich in birds and vibrant wildflowers. The reserve, located 25 kilometres north of Velddrif on the Cape West Coast, is primarily made up of a seasonal vlei that is usually dry between March and June.
Rocherpan was proclaimed a nature reserve in 1966, and the adjacent section of the Atlantic Ocean was designated as a marine reserve in 1988.
Rocherpan has two picnic areas where you can relax and take in the natural beauty of the area. Picnics can be enjoyed at either the new braai area behind the bird hides or at the lookout point near the beach. The entrance fee to the reserve is R50 for adults and R30 for children.
Namaqua National Park
Situated roughly 495 km north of Cape Town, Namaqua National Park is a prominent South African national park where, in the months of early August through September, a floristic spectacle unfolds.
