Comedienne Jennifer Saunders has released an autobiography, and it’s sure to have you in stitches.
Fans of Ab Fab’s Champagne-swilling Edina, rejoice: the comedienne’s autobiography, Bonkers: My Life in Laughs is out in paperback. This hilarious, but touching, life story is full of adventure.
Jennifer Saunders describes her book as an upbeat tale, saying she doesn’t have enough material for a “misery memoir” – though accounts of heartache, such as her cancer story, are hardly shied away from.
Weaved into childhood memories and life events are stories such as touring India with Ruby Wax and Goldie Hawn, accidentally enrolling on a teacher-training course with a young Dawn French, and bluffing her way through to her BBC series.
This is a great book that delivers on wit – the title makes a promise of a wild ride on which the rest of the book delivers. Jennifer even includes an anecdote about meeting Prince Charles and Camilla on one occasion, in which the self-confessed name-dropper admits Camilla didn’t particularly care for her conversation!
