Avon Justine invites women to join the iThemba Walkathon and focus on their breast health during October.
This is a frightening statistic, but there are steps that you can take to lessen your chance of getting breast cancer by making certain healthy lifestyle changes. One of the changes you can start with is exercising regularly.
Lifestyle factors can lower your risk of breast cancer
A 2018 global study of 19 000 respondents from various countries showed that there is low awareness among woman of the fact that some lifestyle factors could prevent breast cancer.
For example, 64% of the women surveyed weren’t aware that regular exercise – like walking – could help to lower their risk of developing breast cancer.
