We know that January budgets are tight, and that you may not be too keen on shopping for new work wear. Wouldn’t it be great if you could just continue wearing your holiday clothes? We say you can! Our fashion editor has gathered some of her favourite holiday pieces, with office-appropriate ways to wear them. Now you can make your wardrobe go the distance, while saving some money.
The Loose Tunic
That tunic you’ve been wearing as a pool cover-up or an easy throw over all holiday long? Throw it over tailored pants and add a belt for some structure. All you need is a pair of beautiful heels to show you mean business.
The Floral Maxi Dress
Thought you couldn’t wear a maxi dress to work? Think again! A blazer can transform just about any dress. This white linen blazer is the perfect topper. Paired with chunky heels, you’ll be a breath of fresh air in the office.
A floral kimono is a vacation must-have, but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear it to work. It’s a good alternative to a blazer when you want a more relaxed look. Pair it with cropped pants and a classic shirt. Finish it off with modern raffia block heels.
The Strappy Tank
A strappy cami can be worn all year long – the key is layering. Swap your shirt for a feminine silk cami and give your suit a refresh. With a burst of colour, those Monday meetings don’t have to be boring.
The Summery Skirt
Put that classic pencil skirt in the back of your closet this season and reach for a bold wrap skirt instead – whether it’s a bright colour or print. Take it up a notch with a lace detailed blouse and ditch the flats in favour of a classic block heel.
