Deciding what to wear can be a challenge this time of year; it’s what we call the “transitional period”. The weather starts off pretty cool in the morning, but the sun always tends to shine its way through the cold. The key thing to keep in mind is to wear pieces that are easy to remove without totally altering your look. Our fashion team has put together three different ways on how to layer like a pro.
A polo neck knit or thin puffer sleeveless overlay make it easy to throw on or off depending on how you feel. A detailed sleeve or a classic white shirt is perfect for this type of layering. Sling over a jacket that’s loosely fitted at the front to show off the detail of your neckline and to allow space for the layers.
The trick is to find a thin layer underneath that allows for different necklines and a thicker layer on top. A thin polo neck works perfectly – be bold and go for a pop of colour. If your coat and dress hem line up, all the better for you. Throw on a pair of knee high boots and you’re set.
A double layer of jackets mean you’re adding a contrast to your look, but it’s also practical. A denim jacket is a must-have in any woman’s wardrobe because it’s great for any type of weather. Wear it under a longer blazer and roll up the sleeves a little to show off your layers.
