This week has been a mixed bag, with many highs and lows.
Here’s our round-up of the most newsworthy celebrity moments from around the globe:
Lady Gaga ditches hot hubby-to-be
Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney have called off their engagement. Our favourite TV fireman and the singer are apparently taking a break, and Gaga asked her fans to “root” the pair on.
Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We’re just like everybody else and we really love each other.
Tragedy strikes during the #Trek4Mandela
Doting dad, loving husband and inspirational public figure Gugu Zulu passed away this week while participating in the #Trek4Mandela fundraising climb of Kilimanjaro. A memorial service will be held for him at Kyalami Race Track on Tuesday. Our thoughts go out to his wife Letshego and baby Lelethu.

Pearl Thusi hits the bigtime
One of our favourite South African celebs has landed a role in Quantico. This week she made us proud (and extremely jealous!) by posting a pic of herself on set with her hunky co-workers.
Michelle Obama shows off her fun side
The American first lady, who was also the subject of many hilarious memes this week after Melania Trump appeared to take a little too much inspiration from one of her speeches, joined James Corden for a bit of Carpool Karaoke. Watch the video below:
Charlize Theron makes a powerful impression
Charlize Theron courted controversy this week with a hard-hitting speech at the 21st International AIDS Conference in Durban. You can read the full speech by following the link in her Instagram bio.
