Upon stepping into the retreat, we were greeted by the glistening sunset over the ocean. The entrance is positioned in a beautiful way that while walking to the front door, a tunnel vision perception is created that leads your eye-line directly to the ocean and we just knew relaxation awaited.
Tucked between forest greenery and the sound of the ocean crashing against the rocks, Camps Bay Retreat is a sanctuary for nature lovers.
The antique exteriors and the classic interiors create a warm and homely feel, preserving the authenticity of the original structure. It is the ideal location for a staycation!
After settling into our manor suit for the night, we were treated to the most delicious dinner at the recently opened, Bella’s at Camps Bay Retreat looking over the most spectacular sunset and ocean view. The local, organic and quality ingredients are drenched with love that goes into every dish.
If you decide to stop by, try the prawns with lemon butter – you won’t be disappointed.
The retreat rests on a private nature reserve that is perfect for families, couples and friends. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city but still want to enjoy the vibe of the Camps Bay strip, this staycation is for you.
The hotel offers access to a private paddle court, sauna, spa and heated pool. There is also a tranquil walk through the property’s many hiking trails leading past a mountain pool to a waterfall.
After a much-needed lie-in, we missed breakfast but if dinner was anything to go by we know it was delightful. Enjoying a warm cup of coffee in the room, we decided to treat ourselves to a spa treatment because the feeling of a tiring week was taking effect and after all, we were there to relax and experience everything the retreat had to offer.
Just when we thought things can’t get better, we made our way over the famous footbridge to another oasis where the spa was located. A neck, shoulder and back massages had never been needed this much. Lathered in warm oils the massage was nothing less than magical. The staff was extremely friendly and professional.

Sadly it was time to depart and reenter the world but the lingering relaxed feeling stayed with us for the entire weekend. We cannot fault this trip in any shape or form. From the room and food to the impeccable service from the staff. This visit to Camps Bay Retreat was able to reset the soul and align our intentions for the remaining parts of the year.
