There’s no confirmed reason why it is called Black Friday, but it’s most likely because it is when many shops see their biggest profit, moving from the red into the black.
When is Black Friday?
This year, Black Friday falls on Friday 25th November. It is always the Friday right after Thanksgiving (which falls on the last Thursday of November every year).
