If there’s one thing you should not live without – it’s sunscreen! Sunscreen is a must-have item for day-to-day. Some people even believe in wearing sunscreen even when you are inside and not in direct sunlight – we’re here to tell you that it’s 100% correct to do so!

Come rain or shine, indoors or out, summer or winter – sunscreen is always the most important step in your morning skincare routine. If you are still a bit skeptical regarding why you should still apply when you’re inside, here’s why it’s  necessary:

Wearing sunscreen indoors

UV rays can pass through glass, and can be even harsher than direct outdoor sunlight.  This is the reason why it’s important to wear SPF inside your home, inside your car, at work – anywhere and everywhere! Sunscreen bounces the light off the surface of your skin to protect it from damaging penetration.

Glass windows filter out UVB rays however UVA rays can still penetrate through your windows which is harmful to your skin.

Wearing sunscreen when you are inside as well as on cooler days will benefit you for the following reasons:

What is Blue light?

It’s not advised to include sunscreen as part of your night time skincare routine as your skin  needs to breathe. However, wearing sunscreen during the day while you are indoors will protect your skin form blue light.

Reapplication when indoors?

Generally speaking, you should be reapplying your sunscreen every 2 hours but when indoors, it can be less.
