Don’t we all want to look beautiful on holiday, but without the fuss? Well, it’s all in the prep, says beauty expert Jo Glanville-Blackburn. Here’s what beauty buys to pack to make a tropical break a truly effortless holiday.
For Effortless Cleansing
Try to avoid big tubes and glass jars when packing. Go for buys that are compact enough to stay in your hand luggage instead.
Top tip: Pack the teeniest of facial-cleansing brushes. We like Foreo Luna Mini 2, R2 500.
For Protecting Against The Elements
Anti-pollution skincare is hot property right now and helps to ward off sunspots through damage from free radicals. Look for antioxidant care such as Ren Flash Defence Anti-Pollution Mist, R540 for 60ml, with detoxifying alfa-glucan and pollution-protecting biosaccharide gum.
Top tip: If you’re using a water mist, make sure to blot your skin with a tissue and add a moisturiser after, otherwise you actually risk dehydrating skin as the water evaporates.
For In-Shower Smoothness
Veet In-shower Hair Removal Cream, R95,99 for 150ml, removes leg hair within six minutes. It also smells delicious and is available in beautifully fresh jasmine and lily fragrances.
For Moisture Top-Ups
…and a hint of colour, Labello Fruity Shine Lip Balm in Strawberry Shine, R26,99, makes lips look healthier in a jiffy! It’s also perfect to buff on the tops of cheekbones for a fast summer glow on and off the beach.
For If You’ve Had Too Much Sun
Sling in a sachet of a skin-loving vitamin-enriched serum, like Skin Republic’s CoQ10 + Caviar Face Sheet Mask, R45 for one, with anti-ageing vitamin E. It’s the perfect antidote for stressed-out skin.
