TikTok has become the go-to place for beauty trends and although some beauty trends may seem rather out there, it looks as if this beauty trend making use of banana peels could be the one replacing Botox injections. Curious?
TikToker Alayna Ryan claims that banana peels have the same effect as Botox injections.
The TikToker posted a video which has raked in over 1.9 million views and still on the rise. In the video, the mom of three showcases how she rubs banana peels all over her face and explains what the benefits to it are.
She starts by warning viewers that it’s really gross, but assures that it really works because she’s been doing it for years.
“It’s disgusting but it’s natural botox. The inside of a banana peel.” she adds.
“The grosser it looks from the outside (referring to the banana peel) the better your skin’s going to look.

After the video went viral many people jumped on the trend, sharing their own footage of themselves rubbing banana peels on their faces, using the original sound audio from Alayna Ryan to recreate the banana peel videos and spread the word.
TikTok user @jnitav’s video shares her own beauty tutorial using the banana peel and offers her own bit of advice:
“The worse the banana looks, the better. Leave on for 15-20 minutes, rinse with cold water then moisturise. You can do this three to five times a week.”
