From carrying oversized handbags filled with mystery items to claiming we’re ‘just looking’ while online shopping, some things simply don’t need explaining. And that’s okay. These little quirks are part of what makes us who we are.

To the untrained eye, they may all appear to be shades of pink. But we know the difference between rose, blush, nude pink, dusty mauve and berry nude. No, they’re not the same colour. And yes, we absolutely need all of them.
Keeping clothes we haven’t worn in years
One day that dress might be perfect for a wedding, brunch, holiday or event that doesn’t currently exist. Until then, it stays right where it is.
Going to the bathroom together
Men may never understand this one. Sometimes it’s about fixing make-up. Sometimes it’s about continuing an important conversation. Sometimes it’s simply tradition. Whatever the reason, the answer to ‘Why do you all go together?’ remains: because we do.
Rearranging the house and calling it self-care
Sometimes buying new cushions isn’t the answer. Sometimes moving the existing cushions to a different sofa is. A refreshed living room can feel surprisingly therapeutic.
Saving things ‘just in case’
Gift bags, pretty boxes, ribbons, containers and candles that are too nice to burn all fall into this category. One day they’ll be useful. At least that’s what we tell ourselves.
Taking forever to choose a restaurant
It’s not that we don’t know what we want. It’s that we want every possible option considered before making a final decision. Then we’ll probably order the same thing we always do anyway.
Telling the group chat everything
Before a decision is made, a screenshot is sent, opinions are gathered and a committee meeting is held. Whether it’s a new haircut, a first date or a pair of shoes, the group chat deserves a vote.
Reading the entire beauty aisle while buying one thing
A quick trip to the shops for shampoo somehow turns into 20 minutes spent examining skincare products, comparing labels and testing hand creams. Will we leave with just the shampoo? The odds are low.
Claiming we have nothing to wear
Despite a wardrobe full of clothes, there are days when absolutely nothing feels right. It’s rarely about the amount of clothing we own and more about finding the perfect outfit for the mood, occasion, weather and level of confidence we’re feeling that day. It’s a struggle only fellow women truly understand.
Loving the little things
From buying flowers for ourselves to lighting a candle on an ordinary Tuesday, women have a special talent for turning everyday moments into something worth celebrating. And while some of our habits may seem confusing from the outside, they’re often the very things that bring us joy.

Not everything needs to make perfect sense. Sometimes the habits that seem the most irrational are the ones that make life more fun, more comfortable and a little more colourful. And if men don’t understand them? Well, that’s part of the charm.
