WIN: We have two, Winnie Mandela: A Life, by Anne Marie du Preez Bezdrob (Random Struik House) books to give away, worth R200 each.

WIN: We have two, Doing Life With Mandela, My Prisoner, My Friend by Christo Brand with Barbara Jones (Jonathan Ball Publishers) books to give away, worth R210 each.

The author of this book, Christo Brand was born on a farm in the Western Cape. He trained as a prison officer and found himself on Robben Island to guard the most dangerous men in South Africa at the age of 19. It was here that he met Nelson Mandela, a man who would change his life forever. In this book Christo tells, for the first time, the incredible and moving story of their unlikely friendship. He provides rare and personal insights into Mandela’s life during his years on Robben Island.

WIN: We have two, Long Walk to Freedom Special Editions by Nelson Mandela (Jonathan Ball Publishers) to give away, worth R420 each.

WIN: We have two, Opposite Mandela: Encounters with South Africa’s Icon by Tony Leon (Jonathan Ball Publishers) to give away, worth R210 each.

Tony Leon served as the leader of the Democratic Party during Nelson Mandela’s presidency. Although they clashed, sometimes fiercely, on great issues of the day, Leon enjoyed an unusually warm relationship with Mandela and had direct access to the president's office. This book is filled with unique, warm and humorous insights into the unexplored presidential life of Neslon Mandela. Leon gives a highly readable and first-hand account of many unknown or unexplained benchmarks from that era.
